Have you ever wondered if God knows where you’re at and what you’re going through? Does He know your pain? Does God even care?
In today’s ever-connected world of hustle and bustle, it’s easy to get swept away in the cares of this life. If it’s not school or a career, it is family, health or business. But before we know it, months turn into years; and years into decades. And somehow along the way we’ve lost our sense of direction and have forgotten our beliefs.
We may have gotten busy and drifted away from God, but He hasn’t drifted away from us.
God Knows Your Name
If you’re anything like me, there have been days when it felt like I was on an island, all alone. When I felt like a foreigner in a strange land. It was terrifying to think that nobody really knew me and I would die all alone.
But the Bible says, “He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.” (Psalm 147:4)
According to the UCSB science department, there are 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (that’s 1 billion trillion) stars in the observable universe. And God knows every one of them by name!
If God created every star and knows them each by name, how much more do you think He knows your name?
In fact, the Lord told Jacob, “I have called you by name, you are mine.” – Isaiah 43:1
If God called Jacob by name, what makes us think He doesn’t know our name? He’s the Creator of all things so of course, He knows our name!
God Knows Right Where You’re At
King David once wrote, “O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD.” (Psalm 139:1-4)
Can you imagine the One True God, the Almighty, taking an interest in your affairs and caring about your every move, your every thought? Well, He does.
God once told Jeremiah, “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”
(Jeremiah 1:5)
God did not just create us, He crafted every single facet of our lives with extreme detail and care. Just think about the nearly 8 billion people on the planet and how there isn’t a single pair of identical fingerprints!
The Bible goes onto say, “…the very hairs on your head are all numbered.” (Luke 12:7)
If He cares enough to number the hairs on your head, you can take comfort in knowing that God knows exactly where you’re at and what you’re going through.
God Has A Purpose For Your Life
Sometimes life can be taxing and monotonous. At times, it can even be painful.
“What’s the purpose of all this?” you might ask.
But the Scripture says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
Who knows your life purpose better than God? If you will look unto Him and align your vision with His, He will show you His plans. Only then will you discover a life beyond your wildest dreams.
God Wants A Personal Relationship With You
God spoke to Moses from a burning bush. He sent an angel to wrestle with Jacob.
He stood beside the three Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace. He fed Elijah by ravens.
He wants to be personally involved in your life too.
The Bible says, “If you will draw near to Him, He will draw near to you.” (James 4:8)
God knows where you’re at, He knows what you’re going through, and He knows your name. He’s just waiting for you to draw yourself nearer to Him so that He can hold you in His arms again.
Does God Even Care? Yes, He does. He always has and He always will.
